Social atmospheres are my happy place. Lately however, I have been trying to experiment by going to locations all around Los Angeles that I have never been to before. The La Brea Tar Pits happen to be one of those locations. I can’t even tell you the last time I have gone to anything close to a museum – maybe middle school? In Oregon? So when I left it up to my boyfriend where to take us for the afternoon, he suggested this. I have to admit, spending the day in a museum with a loved one is actually pretty cute, and looking at all the fossils was pretty surreal as well. I will say however, the Tar Pits smelled pretty bad. They definitely lived up to the name. I am always one to wear heels, I definitely don’t own nearly as many sandals or flats compared to pumps, wedges and platforms. Although, when aware that we would be walking around a lot I thought it was completely appropriate to break out my new glittery Leila Stone sandals. I love a statement shoe, so If I am going to wear a sandal it might as well be a statement pair. The white linen high wasted cropped pants are super breathable and very comfortable – just don’t spill your lunch on them. I wore them with a cropped navy sweat shirt from Forever 21. I finished this look off with a top knot with a loose wave and my red Hamilton bag by Michael Kors. I recommend this look for a casual daytime date while walking around and trying something new.
