About eight weeks ago I went in for my 12 week ultrasound to do standard testing. The doctor asked my boyfriend and myself in a rather exciting manner if we would like to know the sex ( *he did inform us that it was early and “not to make any purchases” ) but never-the-less it was going to be a girl! I was thrilled! My very own mini-me. Obviously, my boyfriend and I made the executive decision to not put the news out until our next ultrasound around 20 weeks. I anxiously made an appointment because I could not bare to wait any longer to get confirmation on the sex. As I lay down on the table staring at the screen awaiting to see my baby for the first time in eight weeks, the tech asks “would you like to know the sex?” without hesitation once again I said yes! “It’s a BOY!” says the technician. Huh? What? The technician points to his different body parts as I stare at the screen as if I’m watching a suspenseful movie for the first time. Shocked and in disbelief I glance back at my boyfriend who is basically bursting at his seams. Months of pinning, and fantasizing about a little girl and there he was right in front of my eyes. My son:
Now that the shock has disintegrated, I am completely infatuated with the thought of having a little boy. With all that being said, my belly just seems to get larger by the day. I love maternity dresses lately that have no waist line which just fit me with such ease and are so comfortable during the summer heat. This basic periwinkle chiffon dress is from PinkBlush Maternity which is an online maternity boutique that offer trendy maternity clothes. Its draw string back allows you to loosen or tighten the fit depending on how big your baby bump is, which is essential these days. A basic dress allows a blank canvas which you can dress up or dress down to your liking. In my case, I wanted to pair it with gold and turquoise accessories to make the color pop. Turquoise is not only my favorite color, but a classic seasonal hue to add to any SoCal look. Gold is a great shade to accent a nice summer glow, especially when showing off some leg. Tis the season of baby bumps, maternity clothes and bright colors!
